Tame Valley Co-Operative Learning Trust

We are proud to be a very active member of the Tame Valley Cooperative Learning Trust (TVCLT) and work in partnership with other  local schools, Thomas Barnes, St Leonard's, Mary Howard and St Andrew's . Being part of the TVCLT enables each individual school the oportunity to develop and grow as individuals but blossom as a Trust by offering support and challenge to each other.

The new school year starts every September with a Trust Development Day - a day where Heads came together to decide the direction of the TVCLTs focus for the coming year. Importantly, we established our vision- "A journey of limitless opportunities".

We have, through the past years, created opportunities for representatives from our individual school council to meet, resulting in a Trust Student Council. As you can imagine, they have had some excellent ideas about how they might work together to develop links between learners in all schools. One of these was for a Trust Talent Show. We are pleased to state that we hold the first place thanks to our amazing drummer. The Talent Show took place in November and was a true credit to individual schools and to the Trust as a whole. The diversity of acts and the professionalism with which they took part was incredible. Wilnecote High school staged the event, and it was simply superb - many thanks to the staff there who enabled the event to run smoothly and to all the learners who performed with such confidence.

On the first day of term in January, our Trust wide "Professional Learning Day" takes place. Staff from all the TVCLT schools come together at the Longwood for a day of learning. A typical TVCLT training day compiles an independent speaker around a theme selected by the TVCLT Board alongside focussed sessions that enable the staff from across the Trust the opportunity to work together upon a specific theme. Feedback from the days has always been incredible positive.

The Heads of the TVCLT all value the opportunity to work together to improve all of our schools and increase the learning opportunities of our pupils. As a Trust the Heads, alongside Nexus, have planned and organised a Peer to Peer review system to support the development of all our staff across all the schools. This program has significantly evolved over the years and developed into the project we have all envisioned. A project to ensure the best education is delivered to all pupils across the TVCLT. As a Trust we aim to continue to develop and extend the Peer to Peer development progam across all areas of our schools. Offering professional support and challenge to all colleagues.
