Safe Playtimes

Play leaders ensure all our learners work together in a safe secure environment. Zoning the playground has had a positive impact upon our playtimes and our self esteem. Money has been invested into delivering high quality training for all staff which has enhanced their confidence in delivering safe stimulating activities for all ages.

Although high level policing is not the answer to safer playtimes empowering our learners is. We therefore, encourage our learners to play games at social times and have introduced a range of equipment.  Learners apply to be playtime buddies to assist with coordinating a wide range of games and ensuring other learners are happy.  Our learners stay calm and help others solve minor problems if they arise.

Our learners are very aware of the difference between bullying and falling out. Learners will explain how bullying is:

   Several Times On Purpose

and that they should

              S
tart Telling Other People

The quality of this was recognised in a behaviour achievement award:

"Pupils are well-behaved, polite and get on well with each other.  They have a very good understanding of British values of tolerance and respect and demonstrate this through the consideration they show for each other."
