Art and Design

Art and Design stimulates creativity and imagination. It provides visual, tactile and sensory experiences and a unique way of understanding and responding to the world. Through art and design, our pupils learn to make informed valued judgments, aesthetic and practical decisions and become actively involved in shaping their environments. We are passionate about encouraging our pupils to think outside the box and let their imagination run wild. Understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts have the power to enrich our personal and public lives. Here at Longwood we aim to encourage logical analytical thoughts and foster curiosity through observing different artists from many different cultures. We provide our pupils with the opportunity to communicate their imagination, original thought, personal expression and observation in art. We expose them to artists and their work to ignite their own passions.
