Learning another language like “French” contributes to their development of oracy and literacy, and extends pupils’ knowledge about how language works. At Longwood we introduce an international dimension to learning by giving our pupils an insight into other cultures as well as their own. Through our Connected Curriculum we provide links that reinforces knowledge, skills and understanding developed in other subjects.
At Longwood, we foster pupils’ curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world. Through providing fun opportunities for pupils to communicate for practical purposes, learning new ways of thinking and read a range of vocabulary. Pupils enthusiastically understand and respond to phrases both in speech and in writing.
