At Longwood our Design and Technology curriculum prepares our pupils to be able to deal with tomorrows rapidly changing world..

Designing and Making - Through our enrichment weeks our pupils are immersed within designing, making and evaluating a product across a whole school theme. Our family fun homework engages the whole family within our learning journeys. Relevant safety measures are adhered to across our Forest School curriculum as we encourage our pupils to become independent, creative problem solvers as individual or as part of a team. This helps our pupils become informed future consumers and potential innovators.

Cooking and Nutrition - Our pupils are taught how to cook and apply the principles of nutrition and healthy eating. Instilling a love of cooking in pupils is seen as an essential life skill. Through our proactive “Phunky Food Ambassadors” and our Science curriculum we ensure pupils are aware of healthy choices and the importance of drinking water.
